13th PiFan Film Festival

The Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan) kicked off its 13th year on July 16 in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do. The festival will run for 10 days, screening 201 films from 41 countries under the theme of ‘Love, Fantasy, Adventure’.
Celebrities including Ahn Sung Ki, Jang Na Ra, and Ku Hye Sun walked the red carpet.

Model turned actress Lee Young Jin was chosen as this year’s festival ambassador, referred to as PiFan Lady.

Actors Lee Jong Hyeuk (Crush and Blush) and Cho Eun Ji (Yoga School) presided over the opening ceremony.

The festival’s opening film was director Iwamoto Hitoshi’s MW, which tells the story of two men plotting revenge on the Japanese government for hushing up an island massacre that took place 16 years ago.
PiFan will come to a close on July 26 with British director Gareth Huw Evans’ Indonesian film, Merantau.
