City Hall – Sneak Peek

City Hall – Cast Alteration
Cha Seung Won (Eye for an Eye, Tooth for a Tooth) has replaced Ryu Siwon to be the male lead in upcoming SBS drama City Hall (시티홀). A representative for the drama said that Cha has verbally agreed to star and will soon sign the written contract.
Cha will play a genius government official whose ambition is to become president of Korea. This will be Cha’s drama comeback, as his last one was Bodyguard (KBS) in 2003. He is currently in the final stage of filming the movie Saving My Wife with Song Yoona (On Air).
Kim Suna is set to play the drama’s female lead, who works her way up from the lowest civil servant ranks to become the youngest-ever mayor at city hall.
City Hall will air in spring on SBS, following the end of Cain & Abel. The drama is already attracting a lot of attention, as it is the fourth collaboration of director-writer duo, Shin Woo Chul and Kim Eun Sook (On Air, Lovers in Prague, Lovers in Paris).

Cha Seung Won, Ryu Siwon
Ryu Siwon actually exchanged this role in favour of working with Director Shin and Writer Kim on their next drama (following City Hall). His agency sent out a press release stating that Ryu made his decision based on several factors. For one, Ryu was offered not only the part of male lead, but also the role of co-producer in the next drama. He also felt that the role was better-suited (than the City Hall character) to his personality. Details regarding the drama are yet to be released.
