Boys Over Flowers – Episodes 15 & 16 Previews

Update (2/23)

KP’s note: The following were found on message board as opposed to the KBS site; hence, we cannot guarantee 100% validity.

Episode 16 spoilers

  • Jae Gyeong visits the porridge shop, and takes Jan Di and Ga Eul for manicures and shopping
  • Woo Bin and Yi Jeong unsuccessfully attempt to charm Jae Gyeong so that she’ll lose interest in Jun Pyo
  • Yi Jeong and Ga Eul scheme to bring Jun Pyo and Jan Di together by pretending to go on a date
  • Jan Di calls Jun Pyo to help her “save” Ga Eul from Yi Jeong’s seduction
  • Jun Pyo gets angry when Jan Di tells him that Jae Gyeong is a great girl

Update (2/22)

Here is the preview for episode 16! [8 min.]

KP’s note: (Warning: spoiler ahead.) Based on this preview – I haven’t watched it, but I’ve been told – about half of the KBS spoiler that has been translated at the bottom of this post has more to do with episode 16 (e.g. Jun Hee defending Jun Pyo, Ji Hu bumping into his grandfather when he goes to the clinic with Jan Di) than episode 15.

Update (2/21b):

The official KBS preview clip is up on the website (although there seem to be some technical difficulties)! Here’re some info in addition to what we already know:

  • Remember those shoes that Jan Di liked in Macau, and Jun Pyo fought Jae Gyeong to buy them? Well……. Ji Hu beats Jun Pyo to the punch. Ji Hu gives Jan Di the shoes saying, “I wanted to buy you something with the money that I earned with my own hands for the first time in my life.”
  • While in a meeting with Jae Gyeong’s parents, Chairwoman Kang says to them, “Can anything be more important than [the] two children meeting each other?” (- KP’s note: assumably Jae Gyeong and Jun Pyo). She then turns to her son for confirmation, “Right, Jun Pyo?”
  • Ji Hu offers Jan Di his arm when she arrives at the party with Ga Eul.
  • In the presence of all the party attendants, Chairwoman Kang announces that Jun Pyo’s fiancee and future leader of Shin-hwa Group is in their midst.

Update (2/21a):

KP’s (lengthy) note: Thanks to commenter iloveBOF who found the extended preview clip with English captions. However, read our summary for scene (d) below – I believe the YouTube sub is wrong about Ji Hu asking, “How about me hitting you?”

  • a) Yi Jeong and Ga Eul are in his car. He hands over an invitation to Jun Pyo’s party and requests that she bring Jan Di. Ga Eul is clearly unhappy with Jun Pyo and asks why she should do so when he dumped Jan Di. Yi Jeong responds that he thinks something’s up, and that this will be a chance to confirm it. Ga Eul argues that Jan Di will be the one that gets hurt again. Yi Jeong is hopeful that this is all just an act on Jun Pyo’s part, but says that even if Jun Pyo meant what he said, it is for Jan Di’s own good. After all, it’s better to make a clean break and forget about each other if it’s not meant to be.
  • b, c) While dragging a girl along, Jun Pyo scolds her for being so stupid to fall for his mother’s scheme. Moments later, Jun Pyo turns around to find that the girl he is pulling isn’t Jan Di – it’s his newly announced fiancee. They bicker back and forth – he wants her to go away, while she demands an apology.
  • d) Jun Pyo drops by at Ji Hu’s house with the excuse that he needed somewhere to go and Ji Hu’s house was closest. Ji Hu asks, “How about me getting hit?” (KP’s note: I guess Jun Pyo hit Ji Hu earlier?) and Jun Pyo replies, “Fine! Hit me once! Go ahead!”  Ji Hu laughs it off and asks about the surprise engagement announcement. Jun Pyo responds that he doesn’t know what his mother is up to. When Jun Pyo asks, “Did everyone get home ok?”, Ji Hu answers that Jan Di got home fine. Jun Pyo changes the subject and demands a present from Ji Hu – after all, it’s his birthday. Ji Hu hands over a bag and walks away. Jun Pyo opens it to find a stuffed animal and a card from Jan Di.
  • e) Jan Di and Ga Eul are at a luxury clothing store with Jae Gyeong. Jae Gyeong asks Jan Di what she thinks of various outfits – does she think Jun Pyo will like it? What kind of style does he like? Jan Di tells her that Jun Pyo’s too self-absorbed about his own fashion to remember what others wear. At Jae Gyeong’s questioning, Jan Di describes what Jun Pyo is like. Jae Gyeong remarks that Jan Di must know him really well and then asks, “Will you be my dating/relationship coach??”

Episode 15 preview, translated from KBS (2/17):

“Listen to me carefully. Jun Pyo will come back. Please don’t give up on that guy (rascal) like this. Trust me. Give him one more chance. You can do that, right?” –Jun Hee to Jan Di

It is difficult for Jan Di – who has returned from Macau – to get a grip on her increasingly absent-minded self. In order to escape thoughts of Jun Pyo, she purposely works even more diligently than usual. Due to an errand Jan Di is sent on by “Master” (her boss, Bom Choon Sik), she visits the elderly **fisherman/doctor’s medical clinic and feels refreshed by the atmosphere there.

When Jan Di meets up with Jun Hee who has come back to Korea, she releases her true feelings (that she had been suppressing) to Jun Pyo’s sister. Jun Hee, feeling both sympathetic and grateful towards Jan Di, stands up to her mother and asks that she not turn Jun Pyo into another pawn.

Jun Pyo returns home to attend Shin-hwa University. His mother invites Jan Di to Jun Pyo’s birthday party. After much reluctance, Jan Di goes to the party, only to be confronted with the announcement of Jun Pyo’s betrothal. In the midst of everyone’s shock (including Jun Pyo and F4’s), the girl who Jan Di met in Macau (Jae Gyeong) is dragged [onto stage]….

**KP’s note: The doctor is Ji Hu’s grandfather, patron of Bom Porridge Shop and the former president.

  4. ugh!!!
i knew this was gonna happen sooner or later, i just wonder how come the jun pyo’s mom is still alive?

    February 17, 2009 at 10:03 pm

  5. ok i don’t think he will fall in love with the new girl… in hana yori dango and meteor garden she falls in love for lead guy (Domouji, Dao Ming Si, Gu Jun Pyo) but of course (Makino, Shancai, Guem Jan Di) and (Domouji, Dao Ming Si, Gu Jun Pyo) get back together. I cried so much in ep 14-15!!!! I can’t wait till 16-17.Love Boys Before Flowers!♥ Hopefully Gu Jun Pyo Gets hish ead right. The korean mom is the scariest out of all of the other moms. (mom from the tiawan version was the nicest, the one in japanese version was ok but still scary!)

    February 17, 2009 at 10:26 pm

  6. hey where did you watch ep 15?:)

    February 17, 2009 at 10:39 pm

  7. Can you understand Korean? If so, they’re uploaded on YouTube only about an hour after the Korean broadcast. Just search “kkotboda namja” and narrow it down to videos uploaded ‘today’.

Due to the popularity of the program, they’re also put up with subtitles on pretty quickly.

    February 17, 2009 at 10:54 pm

  8. Oh i remember this part from Hana yori dango.
    Thanks for sharing this~

    February 17, 2009 at 11:11 pm

it will be more interesting in next eps…cant waittt anymore!!!!!

    February 18, 2009 at 12:00 am

  10. thanks for the preview!..please keep it coming!..cannot wait anymore!

    February 18, 2009 at 10:43 am

  11. Well, in Hana Yori Dango.. he doesn’t fall for the ‘new girl’. She falls for him and becomes affectionate towards him, but he doesn’t return the same emotion. It may seem as though he’s confused about his feelings (but he’s definitely in love with JanDi).

I don’t know if you all know, but apparently a picture leaked out onto the internet showing JanDi and GuJunPyo back in Caledonia holding hands on the beach. The ‘thing’ about this picture is that GuJunPyo has goggles around his neck (implying that he can swim now) and it shows JanDi with the star/moon necklace around her neck.

It’s a spoiler, but some PDs are denying that the picture has anything to do with the final episodes.

Hana Yori Dango is the Jap. version, and so far…everything has been pretty similar to the Korean one. You guys should watch it if you haven’t (even though the ‘JunPyo’ character is not NEARLY as good looking as Lee Min Ho 🙂 ahaha) it’s still really good!!!~

    February 18, 2009 at 1:48 pm

  12. Hehe, we posted about that picture earlier.
However, we’ll update with the stuff you mentioned in our BOF recap this week. We were supposed to include it in last week’s but we forgot. Thanks for the reminder! 🙂

  13. what am i going to do when this drama is over! im just too attached to it, i wait for every mon&tues so it became my daily thing but but…=[ i cant wait for the next eps but that also means ending is near ='[

    February 18, 2009 at 6:21 pm

  14. Please…don’t make them (Jan di and Jun pyo) suffer to much…just give them their happiness…please..don’t make too many useless scenes that make this drama get worse in the eye of its fans. Make them happy…make them live happily ever after…and I do wish there will be a wedding scene at the end of this drama because the ending of Hanayori Dango (Japan) and Meteor Garden (Taiwan) were not satisfying enough….

Well, it’s just my opinion… I still love Boys before flower so much…but I do wish this korean version will have more good and “clear” ending…^.^

    Love Lee min hoo…^o^

    February 18, 2009 at 10:05 pm

  15. KP I saw the pictures and i’m pretty confused myself cuase that definetly can be the end shot of JD and GJP in Caledonia…but they still could change the ending….all I can say/write is I want a proper GREAT ending PLEASE…I have so many KDramas endings that have left me very unhappy…all that suffering and at the end the couple just hug and look at the scenery. NO I want a wedding…..
On other matters I know we unpatiently waiting for ep. 15 & 16 so I was surfing the web and I found this summary of ep. 16 enjoy…
    the angst continues:

Junpyo grabs a hand and drags who he thinks is Jandi out of the hall right after his engagement is announced. Unfortunately, he actually got Jaekyung by mistake. (Mistake. Yeah, right. Ha.) Jaekyung is adorably in love with Junpyo, while Jandi truly believes that Junpyo has forgotten her.

Due to the misunderstandings floating around, Jandi decides to make the breakup clear this time and hands the necklace back to Junpyo. Poor Junpyo is completely devastated and decides to give this thing with Jaekyung a try. In return, she tells Jandi (whom she considers a friend) the ‘happy news’. What can Jandi say? She congratulates Jaekyung, though she goes off to cry on her own later.

Jandi’s shoulder injury acts up, and she has to be hospitalized. Junpyo goes to visit her and sees Jihoo there. He realizes that he can’t forget about Jandi after all.

In another front, the kindly assistant (or manager Jung, the text isn’t too clear) tells Jandi that shortly after arriving at Macau, an employee who’d been with Junpyo for all his life committed suicide after being fired. This caused the complete turnaround in attitude from Junpyo, apparently.

  16. Hmmm… Wow this sure sounds so much like HYDJ version… although, i thought that the change in JP was because of the daddy guilt thing that the mom is holding?! …anyway, im sure that they will add great korean flare into this episode…
on the other hand, im sure excited to see how they will incorporate Jihoo’s grandpa into this series…

    February 19, 2009 at 3:43 pm

  17. if you wanted to watch videos of boys before flowers which already had subs…try typing:
then, the 7 parts of the episode would appear…
    then tadah!!
you could already watch the whole video…

    February 19, 2009 at 9:58 pm

  18. arivle,
With all the rumours of that being the final scene, it is possible that they create a different ending. The drama reps claimed about a week ago that they’ve only planned up until episode 20, so the ending has not been decided on yet.

In regards to your episode 16 spoilers, you may or may not be right. It does sound quite possible; however, we’ve been digging through Korean sites and haven’t come across any reliable sources. Some netizens are creating spoilers based on the Japanese version. However, thanks for the heads up on what you found – we’ll let you know if we find confirmation this week 🙂

    February 20, 2009 at 12:23 pm

    February 21, 2009 at 3:50 am

  22. KP,,
    I can’t wait to watch next eps…

    February 22, 2009 at 12:18 am

  23. I like this website and the information about boys over flowers posted here. Thanks for the webmaster.

Just like Arivle, I want a wedding, too! But I don’t want Jun Pyo to lose his memory like the Taiwan version. (I’ve watched the Taiwan version but did not watch the Japanese version. Anyway, I love the Korean version!!!)

I love this drama so much. And I like Jun Pyo and Jan Di. However, I couldn’t read Korean and so it’s difficult for me to find pictures of Jun Pyo and Jan Di. There are more pictures of Jan Di and Ji Hoo than of Jan Di and Jun Pyo on the net. There are many pictures of different characters of the drama. However, I could hardly find any of Jun Pyo and Jandi. 😦

    February 23, 2009 at 5:21 am

  24. Yeah, I really loved checking upon this blog! It’s A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.! All the latest stories of BOF are all for me to know. WOW. Thanks a lot. Some would say that this would destroy the excitement of watching the actual series as this blog provides some spoilers. But, honestly, to me, this is what exactly I need. Now I could actually wait and relax about the next episodes because you already supplied some previews. Thank you again. I don’t know how you do it bu Thank you.

Btw I do find BOF is actually the same with HYD instead of the Taiwanese version, Meteor Garden. I watched all 2 seasons of J-drama Hana Yori Dango so I could predict what will BOF story tell each episodes. But there’s some difference like the “Stuck In The Snow Blizzard” scene. Which in HYD came last while in BOF came in the middle. A surprise ending perhaps?

    February 23, 2009 at 6:34 am

  25. The Taiwanese version especially the 2nd season was so prolongated and that disappointed me a lot. It took 31 eps just to end the story and more than half were about the memory loss. It breaks viewers heart as they watched San Chai’s heart broken day by day.

While the Japanese version is more light. I’ve never read the original manga so I don’t know which one is closer to the original storyline. But BOF is so much like HYD so far and I hope the Korean producers won’t be following the Taiwan version by taking too much on the memory loss misery. I really hope not since it only 8 episodes to finish.

    February 23, 2009 at 6:40 am

  26. I don’t like season 2 of the Taiwanese version. And I don’t want to see Jun Pyo losing his memory and falling in love with another girl!!! Jandi has already broken her heart since Jun Pyo went to Macau. No, no, no! No more heart-broken scenes, please! I do hope a happy ending in the Korean version. I want a wedding scene! I’ve read about the Japanese version. There’s a wedding scene in a film, right? I hope there’s also a wedding scene in the Korean version!
No more suffering! Happy Ending! by the way, how can I find pictures of Jun Pyo and Jan Di??? I found many pictures of different characters or some of Ji Hoo and Jan Di, but not of Jun Pyo and Jan Di… disappointed

    February 24, 2009 at 3:30 am

  27. Miss KaNiA & yan,

Although the movie showed a wedding scene, I don’t know if we can expect that here. After all, the movie was entirely new – the story was not part of the manga at all. The manga only showed one wedding, and it was Shizuka’s (Rui/Ji Hu’s first love).

Both dramas (Japanese and Taiwanese) as well as the manga had the part about Tsukasa/Jun Pyo’s memory loss, so it is possible that BOF will include that story as well.
