Wheesung’s “Insomnia”

UPDATE (2/18): “Insomnia” MV released

On February 18, Wheesung will debut a new digital single – a Korean cover of Craig David’s “Insomnia” (which was released in fall 2008). A representative from Wheesung’s agency, Orange Shock, said that Craig David was looking for an artist to do an Asian version of his song and handpicked Wheesung to do so.

The Asian version will be slightly closer to the dance genre than the original. Wheesung wrote the Korean lyrics about a guy who can’t sleep after confessing his love to a girl. Wheesung said he was honoured to work with Craig David, and that he worked harder on the song because of the fact that it was by an artist he’s liked from before.

Craig David’s “Insomnia” makes its Korean debut this Monday, and Wheesung’s version will follow just two days later. Beginning with his February 17 taping on KBS Lee Hana’s Peppermint, Wheesung will resume promotional activities for the next while.
