KP’s FAREWELL Note
Dear readers,
“All good things come to an end”, they say. Well, maybe not all, but I’m afraid my adventure into entertainment blogging must. Although I’ve enjoyed the past six or seven months – particularly the popularity from the Boys Over Flowers craze, this site will be shut down shortly. Due to an upcoming career change, I can’t commit to maintaining a top-quality site – and I’d rather do no site than a mediocre one.
Thanks for your support up until now. Some of your e-mails and comments have been really encouraging. I haven’t decided if I’ll stop writing/translating for good; maybe I’ll contribute occasionally to other sites if they’ll have me.^^ Or, maybe I’ll continue anonymously correcting mistakes on other k-pop blogs, keke. I’d like to return to KPculture in the future because I think there’s a lack of objective Korean entertainment news out there, but it’s not realistic for the next while.
I’ll likely shut down the blog, e-mail account, and YouTube account by the end of this month so if you’d like to copy anything to replace the links you’ve made, please do so. Thanks in particular to people who linked KPculture on their blogroll, we really appreciated it! If you have any questions or requests, please leave a comment and we’ll try to respond. We’d especially like to hear from our regular visitors – what did/didn’t you like about the blog? Thanks for your input (in advance)!

Oh gosh I’m so sad. This blog was on my daily routine list (e-mail, fb, kbites, kpculture, dramabeans, yt). I found your blog thru BOF days & have stayed reading ur articles & interviews! I’m sad to see you go b/c you’re one of the very few up-to-date unbias or should i say not so critical straight forward news. Geez I dunno how to word it lol. You’re basically not allkpop, popseoul, seoulbeats is what I’m saying. Surely gonna miss visiting this blog! But anyway, good luck with your future endeavors. 😀 I will miss coming here.

i’m going to miss this blog terribly.
I very much enjoyed the fact that you presented entertainment news and especially, photo spreads without the snarky comments and failed attempts at humour; which, unfortunately, seems to be the de rigueur of all entertainment blogs these days. It was a refreshing change and good while it lasted.
But I do realize how much one’s time is consumed in keeping a blog that is of high quality and you’ve done a fine job. Good luck in the future!

i cannot believe you are going to shut this down. i’m terribly sad tbh, i love your site. it’s one of the unordinary sources around. i love your articles and stuff. T___T

Aww, this has been my favorite k-blog 😦
I have really liked that you always seem to go for the most truthful stories, and not the most scandalous interpretation like other blogs. Also the high quality photos have been among the things that have kept me coming back.

I’m really sad to hear that you’ll be closing down this site… but if you do return, I hope you return with the same URL or else how will be know you have returned?! Thank you for very informational posts that was objective, informational, and accurate. What I liked best about this site were the Minimixes. I think they were very informational and yet short and to-the-point. I also loved how you had very HQ pictures and as well as photo shoots that no other K-pop blog covered. I also hope that you keep this site opened, even if you’re not updating it…

It’s unfortunate that you came to the conclusion that you have to totally shut your blog down. KPculture has become quite a popular blog in a short period of time. From what I’ve noticed, KP is well respected by other Korean blogs and I hope you noticed that as well. To be honest though the site has diminished in quantity, not quality, the past few weeks but your explanation that the blog was being run by one person as of late clarifies the reason why the updates became fewer and far between. I agree with others that mentioned that KP provided the best HQ photos from photoshoots that other sites didn’t cover and I personally loved how thorough you were with your information on all your posts. I’ve always enjoyed reading KPculture but I must confess that I enjoyed it even more in the first half of the site’s life when you posted fresh info before other sites did. Other Korean blogs have shutdown recently, or they’re on the verge of shutting down, but hearing that KPculture is following the same path is truly upsetting. Those other blogs were destined to shutdown eventually but I thought KPculture would be around for a long time. It really is a shame that you decided to end it all and I hope you reconsider. I really wish you would reconsider but if you don’t then I should take this chance to say thank you for everything you’ve done and good luck in the future.

your blog was one of my favourties.
im not surprised.. since alot of other bloggers are getting older and wanting to focus on their careers/studies. KBites recently just added another blogger making it a duo for the very same reason.

Waaah! It saddens me to hear this, but i understand. All the best to you, and thank you very much for the good work and quality that you’ve put in this site.
This blog is actually one of the few that I trust when it comes to k-news. I hope other blogs will learn and benchmark from your site — straighforward, unbiased, truthful, stress-free blog.
Do inform us where/which site you’ll be “occasionally” contributing or correctings… stuffs like that.

Aw, this is really sad. I came late to the blog but I find KP my favourite one among all the Korean Entertainment related blogs. You cover a wide range of news, not just music/idol group focused and I find it refreshing. I find a lot of stuff here that I don’t find in any other sites.
I hope that in the future, you’ll inform us when/where you will be contributing on other sites.

huh?!! tat’s sad to hear… i just bookmarked your site to my favorites and now it’s going to be gone by end of the month?!
this is one trusted blog site that i collect updates and information on BOF, the casts and more. tat’s really sad to hear… sob sob sob..
i have yet to finish going through the WHOLE of your blog, and i guess i will have sleepless nites catching up information on everything u posted.

Really sad to see Kpculture go. Definitely, I have learned a great deal from reading your blog. Maybe I should have posted something to let you know how amazing your site is. Thanks for always showing covers of up and coming magazine shoot. I love looking at magazine, and it’s very hard to find Korean Fashion Magazine in LA. Maybe it’s just me. But I will miss, your objective views on late breaking news in the Korean Enternaiment.

Why is it that all the good ones go? Thank you for your quality addition to the K-Entertainment blog world. It was superb while it lasted. I understand how difficult it is to maintain a good quality site when one works solo. I had been running my site solo, but fortunately these days I have a great bunch of Kbloggers who post links to their own stories on my newsfeed.
I especially enjoyed your fashion posts and wondered how you extracted those images from the protected sites (kekeke). I’m technically challenged so haven’t figured it out yet.
I hope when you settle into your new career, you will find time to resurrect this site. In the meantime, best wishes for your new adventures.

Aaaw… seems I found your site too late. I was browsing for images of BoA and found your website. Loved the high quality photos, especially the fact that they’re also water-mark free.
I’m just a newbie, but the article on Baek Sung Hyun is my favourite! What a cute hottie! Hehe! But it is sad to hear your not planning to contiue. Good luck with whatever plans you have!
